Well, it indeed took me a lot of time to write this article because I kept reminding myself to write something for my website but always forgot.
This morning, I did two IELTS listening tests and scored 7/10. I think it’s real progress because just a few weeks ago, I could only get 4/10. It truly proves the saying, practice makes perfect.
Then, I prepared my English homework since we needed to create a mind map and retell a story. I had to read the paper carefully and think deeply to make my own mind map.
For lunch, I had spaghetti and a cheese hotdog. It was delicious, though it did cost me some money. But that’s fine—after all, no pain, no gain.
In the afternoon, I had two classes, but not my own. Since I had some free time, I substituted for others who couldn’t attend their classes. Of course, they paid me for it.
Later, I had hotpot, and then I felt a bit tired, so I took a short break in the library. After that, I watched a YouTube video by Leila Hormozi. She is a strong woman who went through a lot in her youth—alcoholism, drug addiction, even jail time. She also struggled with emotional issues and was diagnosed with severe panic disorder. But in the end, she turned her life around. I really admire her and have watched several of her videos, learning a lot from them.
One of her videos, How to Actually Reach Your Goals in 5 Steps, really inspired me. The five steps are:
- Set a clear goal.
- Choose supportive behaviors and actions. For example, if you want to lose weight, you should focus on creating a calorie deficit rather than eating more.
- Make things easy for yourself. Simplify your approach instead of making it unnecessarily difficult.
- Reward yourself for consistent progress.
- Stick to the damn plan.
That was my day. Honestly, I didn’t know what to write, but I felt that I needed to take action and make some changes. If I don’t, I might never get around to writing an article for my website. But who cares? At least I wrote something, and that’s enough.
